Movies about Gaming

Movies about gaming are an eye-opener and worth watching. We have gathered the list of the best movies for you to watch and be entertained!

There are plenty of films based around video games. Most of them aren’t great.

The first live-action adaptation of the game came out in the 1993 film Super Mario Bros., which was a completely absurd and ill-conceived attempt to take what that fans love and recognize from the popular platformer series and turn the game into something that can fit into a bizarre live-action narrative. It’s very poor and video game films haven’t seen much improvement since 1993.

In truth, there are virtually none of the films that are inspired by video games which stand out more than all the others. There are some that are not good but there are also ones which are not as bad, with perhaps one or two variations based on your personal tastes.

This isn’t an exhaustive list of the top video game films. It’s an overview of suggestions for ineffective and passable games that are enjoyable to watch, mainly because they’re flashy or they’re solid representations of a particular series of games or they’re too wild to turn away.

Are Warcraft an enjoyable film? I’m not sure. I’ve been a long-time gamer When I first started watching Warcraft it was a struggle between loving the fake live-action orcs and action, and getting bored with the plot and dialogue. The history of Warcraft is quite a bit. It’s actually too much and I’ve found it better not to go deeply into it as this film did, but in focusing only on only a small portion of the game’s history the film appears as a little uninteresting. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!

However, the film is enjoyment to watch and the plot is simple enough to follow, without needing to learn three books worth of Warcraft history. You won’t regret watching massive CG orcs fighting humans.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider — The Cradle of Life

That’s right, it’s the name. I would suggest picking the lane you want to go on and call it Lara Croft or Tomb Raider It’s just what it is.

With Angelina Jolie, this early 2000s adventure movie is as clichéd as it can be however it doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyment. Jolie’s acting is generally top-notch as is the places she travels to throughout the world, searching for treasure, but finding things such as “that’s not a treasure, that’s a map to a real treasure” or the classic “people have gone in there but no one has ever returned.” What happens is that the white British woman goes there and returns. The entire movie is filled with a colonial feel, but the plot is able to fall just short of being a fan of British people who steal from African tribes this is technically an excellent thing. There are groans to be heard however, it’s an entertaining, silly film. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!

Resident Evil: Retribution

Each Resident Evil film is pretty awful in its own manner. Though they’re based on the game series that focuses on action and horror, Resident Evil movies quickly make themselves known as being distinct from the games. They are extremely action-packed and outrageous. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!

Retribution is like the rest of it coming to a close. The final installment in the series brings a wide array of characters that include video game characters that haven’t been seen in any film in the past, as well as some of the older characters that were murdered -all together in this jam-packed amazing video game film. Its action scenes are fantastic beginning by the opening scene which is an explosive fight between the main character Milla Jovovich as well as a helicopter which play in reverse.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

It’s easy to overlook the fact that Jake Gyllenhaal starred in a Prince of Persia. This film has a history that is skewed in every way, not just from a architectural perspective. The story is about an ancient prince in Persia who is the owner of a dagger which allows the user to move forward and back in increments of one minute. It’s a fascinating gameplay component in the game with the same name, and it can be fascinating within the context of the film adaptation.

It’s true that the acting isn’t good (this is an issue in this film) and the story is nothing more than an attempt to find an McGuffin however, it does have plenty of action to keep it going until the final. A healthy reminder that it’s a group of white actors acting as Persian characters which isn’t a good thing. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!

Street Fighter

The 1994 video game version of the 1v1 fighting game that has the same name is quite absurd. However, then again, it’s the same with the game. The story in this film is quite simple: A variety of gamers come across their paths cross-cutting within the fictional world of Shandaloo. However, the action and acting sequences are so extravagant and silly that it’s enjoyable to just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!

They manage to pack nearly all of the series’ earliest fighters into this jumble of a film, which includes Chun-Li Ken, Ryu, M. Bison, Sagat, Vega, E. Honda, Cammy, and even Blanka. It’s difficult to decide what’s the best or worst part of the film. Jean-Claude Van Damme in Guile? Bison inflating a vessel and shouting “Game over”?

Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog attempts to capture the spirit of gaming and Sonic media through its youthful humor and game-like plot, but the movie does not really stand out as very intriguing. In a strange way, it’s enjoyable to watch, however. It could be something to have something to do with the acting voice of Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Jim Carrey’s captivating character on the part of Dr. Robotnik.

The movie is obviously designed to be seen by children as the subject matter of friendship is presented in such a way it’s nearly hilarious. The movie also appears to be an effective money-making opportunity. You can count the number of product placements in the movie. It is a great playing game. Sure, Sonic the Hedgehog is quite awful however, it’s also charming. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a unique addition to video game films in that it was made from people closely to the project’s creators. The character designer and the recent FFVII Remake director Tetsuya Nomura directed the animated film while the script was written by OG co-writer Kuzushige Nojima. It is recommended as one of the best movies about gaming!
